Cricut Design Space is free. Only download it from Cricut or your device’s official app store. Third-party download sites can bundle malware, outdated versions, or ask for payment for software that costs nothing.

Verified download sources

The desktop installer always comes from Cricut’s own website. Cricut does not distribute Design Space through file-sharing sites, email attachments, or pop-up ads.

How to check a download is genuine

  • Check the web address. The URL should end in cricut.com. Watch for look-alike domains with extra words, hyphens, or misspellings.
  • Check the app publisher. In the App Store or Google Play, the developer should be listed as Cricut, Inc.
  • Never pay for the app. Design Space is free to download. Paid features such as Cricut Access are purchased inside the app after you sign in.
  • Avoid “cracked” or modified versions. These are unsafe and can expose your computer and Cricut account to attackers.

Warning signs of an unsafe site

Close the page if a site does any of the following:
  • Asks for your credit card to download Design Space
  • Shows urgent buttons like “CLICK HERE NOW” or countdown timers
  • Redirects you through several unfamiliar websites
  • Asks you to disable your antivirus before installing
