Cricut Design Space is the free app you use to create designs and send them to your Cricut cutting machine. This guide shows you how to download and install it on your computer or mobile device.

Before you start

Have these ready:
  • A computer (Windows or Mac) or a mobile device (iOS or Android)
  • A stable internet connection
  • A Cricut ID, or an email address to create one
  • Your Cricut machine and its USB cable, if you plan to connect over USB

Download on Windows or Mac

Open the download page

Go to design.cricut.com in your web browser.

Download the installer

Select Download. The site detects your operating system and downloads the correct installer.

Run the installer

Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder.
  • Windows: Double-click the .exe file. If prompted, allow the app to make changes to your device.
  • Mac: Double-click the .dmg file, then drag the Cricut Design Space icon into your Applications folder.

Sign in

Open Cricut Design Space and sign in with your Cricut ID, or select Create Cricut ID to make a new account.

Download on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Search for Cricut Design Space.
  3. Tap Get to download and install the app.
  4. Open the app and sign in with your Cricut ID.

Download on Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Search for Cricut Design Space.
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Open the app and sign in with your Cricut ID.

Connect your Cricut machine

After signing in, set up your machine:
  1. Turn on your Cricut machine.
  2. Connect it to your device with the USB cable, or pair it over Bluetooth.
  3. In Design Space, open the menu and select New Product Setup, then follow the on-screen prompts.
Keep Design Space up to date. The app prompts you when a new version is available, and updates often include fixes and new features.

Troubleshooting

  • Download won’t start: Try a different browser or temporarily disable browser extensions.
  • Installer blocked on Mac: Open System Settings > Privacy & Security and allow the app to open.
  • Can’t find the app on your phone: Check that your device meets Cricut’s minimum system requirements.
  • Machine not detected: Reconnect the USB cable, or turn Bluetooth off and on again, then retry.
