Rewards rates, categories, and benefits can change. Check your cardmember agreement or the Chase Prime Visa page for your card’s current terms.

1. Keep your Prime membership active

The highest rewards rates on the Prime Visa require an eligible Amazon Prime membership. If your membership lapses, your earning rate on Amazon purchases may drop. Set a reminder for your Prime renewal date so you don’t lose the top rate.

2. Use the card for Amazon and Whole Foods purchases

Your biggest rewards come from purchases at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods Market. Set the Prime Visa as your default payment method in your Amazon account so you earn the top rate automatically.

3. Use it for everyday bonus categories

The card also earns bonus rewards in everyday categories such as gas stations, restaurants, and local transit. Use it for these purchases instead of a card that only earns a flat rate.

4. Redeem rewards at Amazon checkout

You can apply your rewards directly to Amazon purchases at checkout.
  1. Add items to your cart and go to checkout.
  2. In the payment section, choose to use your available rewards.
  3. Enter the amount you want to apply and place your order.
You can also redeem rewards through Chase for options such as statement credits or travel.

5. Watch for card-exclusive deals

Amazon regularly offers extra rewards on select products for Prime Visa cardmembers. Look for these offers on product pages and in your Amazon account before you buy.

6. Use it when traveling abroad

The Prime Visa has no foreign transaction fees, so it’s a good card to carry when you travel outside the U.S. or shop with international merchants.

7. Pay your balance in full every month

Interest charges can quickly cancel out the rewards you earn. Pay your full statement balance by the due date, and set up autopay in the Chase Mobile app or at chase.com so you never miss a payment.
Turn on Chase account alerts to get notified about payments, large purchases, and your available rewards balance.
